Ingrown toenails and
nail surgery

Ingrown toenails can be caused by poor nail cutting, nail injury, poorly fitting footwear and more. Ingrown toenails can cause a lot of pain, inflammation and even infections. 

Podiatrists are the experts in nail care. For mildly ingrown toenails, we may use a trained technique to simply trim the corner of the nail. If the nail is more ingrown or the ingrown piece is deeper, we will need to perform a small procedure under local anaesthetic to remove that side of the nail. Our podiatrists at Boyce Podiatry have undergone specialist training in nail surgery. To date, we have an 80% success rate with our nail surgery. We also have a good working relationship with the GP’s in our area and are happy to contact them on your behalf if we think antibiotic treatment is required.
